ABOUT
Hi, I'm Cassie Smith.
My journey into leadership coaching and nurse coaching was born from a deep belief that something is missing—not only in how we care for patients, but in how we support the people leading that care.
Throughout my career as a Registered Nurse in long-term care—serving as a Nurse Manager, Director of Nursing, and Regional/Consultant Nurse—I saw firsthand the pressures leaders carry. The system is often reactive, focused on putting out fires rather than building strong, sustainable foundations. And while we work tirelessly to care for others, leaders themselves are often left navigating burnout, stress, and responsibility without the support they truly need.
That never sat right with me.
I discovered my passion in helping leaders grow—not just in their roles, but as individuals. Because when a leader grows in awareness, confidence, and intention, everything around them begins to shift—their team, their culture, and ultimately, their outcomes.
This led me to develop the Empowered Leadership Program with the Peplinski Group and to educate organizations such as Health Care Association of Michigan and National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long Term Care of Michigan on the importance of nurse coaching in the workplace. My work focuses on bringing a different approach—one that prioritizes reflection, regulation, and sustainable leadership practices.
My experiences—as a nurse, a leader, and someone who has navigated personal challenges—shape the foundation of my coaching. I understand what it feels like to carry the weight of expectations while trying to lead effectively. And I also know that real, lasting change doesn’t come from quick fixes or surface-level strategies.
It comes from building awareness, strengthening mindset, and creating small, consistent shifts that build momentum over time.
Because I’ve lived it, I’m committed to helping you step into leadership in a way that feels clear, grounded, and aligned. This work isn’t about doing more—it’s about leading differently, with intention and purpose.
